RobertsUI Programming Update - March 2012

E-mail Print PDF

Winter Quarter 2012 is finished, so now is a good time for an update on the programming progress we have made in the 2.5 months since SAMI notified us that we won the grant to build ROBERT Sub.

RobertsUI is the submarine controller's user interface program.  The program is responsible for accepting commands from a human controller, processing the commands and then sending the commands to the sub, and also for receiving, processing, and displaying data from the sub, including videos and sensor data.

As of March 22, 2012, we have written 5,165 Source Lines Of Code (SLOC), which the SLOCCount program estimates to be about 13 person-months of effort and a cost to develop of $157,150.00 USD.

We have currently implemented an IDEAl interface, a configuration editor, an About dialog, a web browser, and an pre-alpha version of a navigation widget that overlays controls on top of the navigation video.
